A Forward Vision for Safer BC Communities

British Columbians are tired of living in fear.

Whether it’s repeat violent offenders walking free, tent cities taking over public parks, or drug-fueled crime threatening our transit systems and downtowns, the people of this province are demanding real change—not more excuses. It is time to restore law and order, end catch-and-release justice, and rebuild safe communities for all British Columbians.

This isn’t about ideology. It’s about reality. And the reality is that our streets are no longer safe—and the NDP government has failed to fix it.

We Want A Plan That Puts Public Safety First

  • Restoring real consequences for crime by ending the catch-and-release system and introducing mandatory minimum sentences for violent and repeat offenders.
  • Fast-tracking justice by establishing a new statutory court to hear minor offenses within one week of arrest—not after 12 to 18 months of delay.
  • Hiring more sheriffs and judges to clear the court backlogs that let criminals fall through the cracks.
  • Strengthening police presence in schools, ports, and high-risk housing environments—places where criminal activity thrives when left unchecked.
  • Reversing dangerous drug decriminalization policies that have turned public spaces into unsafe, unsupervised injection zones.

Expand Community Policing and Youth Outreach

Crime doesn’t start in the courtroom—it starts in the streets, and often among vulnerable youth. To truly reclaim our communities, we must rebuild trust between law enforcement and citizens through community-based policing models.

We support expanding programs that embed trained officers into local schools, community centers, and public transit hubs—programs like the I-RAYL youth initiative that pairs officers with social workers to help at-risk youth before they become offenders. These programs deter crime and build resilience—not just punishment, but prevention.

Strengthen Oversight and Support for Victims

Real justice means supporting victims, not just prosecuting perpetrators. We need to do more than just hiring more Crown prosecutors, but we also to expand victim services, trauma support programs, and community-based resources for those affected by crime.

In addition, transparent oversight mechanisms are essential. Public trust in the justice system depends on accountability—especially when police use force or make critical decisions in vulnerable communities. We call for expanded resources to BC’s independent oversight bodies to ensure that law enforcement remains both tough on crime and accountable to the public.

This Is a Moral Crisis, Not Just a Political One

Let’s be clear: public safety is not just a policy issue—it’s a moral obligation. When government fails to keep our streets safe, to protect families, and to ensure justice is swift and fair, it betrays the very foundation of a civilized society.

Help us make this plan a reality.

  • It prioritizes victims over criminals.
  • It returns consequences to crime.
  • It rejects the failed ideology of decriminalization without treatment.
  • It recognizes that safe communities need both firm enforcement and social support systems.

We urge all British Columbians to speak up. Talk to your neighbours, and stand up for a safer province. Because criminals don’t belong on our streets—they belong behind bars.
